Bachata is a form of music and dance originated in Dominican Republic in 1920 with the dance style of 4/4 timing. Bachata is one of the most familiar Latin Dance known in New York! Bachata is influenced by Rumba & son, Caribbean and Cuban influences. Bachata's main musical instrument is the guitar, the guitar tells the story of Bachata.

In the Early 1920's, Bachata wasn't very popular in the Dominican Republic and it was difficult for it be aired and very difficult for people to enjoy. Bachata was only played in small parties. By 1992 Bachata had international recognition thanks to Grammy award winner, Juan Luis Guerra.

As Bachata hit the level of Popularity in New York City Bachata music styles was also influenced by the famous genres of music in New York. In 2004, Aventura became one of the most World Wide Bachata Bands introducing a little taste of Dominican Republic. Now some Bachata music is produced with electronic instrument and influenced by R&B and modern popular genres. Compared to Salsa and Merengue dances, Bachata is as romantic and one of the easies Latin Dance to learn.
